Turks and Caicos oceanfront resort ideas

Everyone has heard of Provo, but not many people have heard about Turks and Caicos oceanfront resort ideas.

The Turks and Caicos Islands (TCI) are a small island chain in the Caribbean. Geographically part of the Bahamas, the islands lie close Hispaniola (home of  Haiti and the Dominican Republic), and, surprisingly Cuba. The islands are just about an hour away from Miami airport, and have direct connections to New York, Toronto and London.

So, TCI is easy to get to, yet still remains relatively undiscovered. The islands’ relative obscurity is almost unbelievable, given that the area is home to one of the longest barrier reefs in the world, an annual humpback whale migration, and a friendly dolphin named JoJo.

And the visitors who do make it all the way to TCI generally end up staying close to the airport in the main commercial centre of Providenciales, or Provo. While the town of Provo is a fantastic place, with plenty of beautiful beaches, plus a wide range of culinary and shopping opportunities, it doesn’t really represent all that the Turks and Caicos has to offer. Sure, there are oceanfront resorts in Provo, but take a drive just 30 minutes east along the Leeward Highway and you’ll be in a different world entirely.

I would argue that Grace Bay offer the best Turks and Caicos oceanfront resort ideas. For one thing, Grace Bay is secluded. It’s not a population centre, and it’s off the beaten track. Plus, Grace Bay is beautiful – the white sand beach is nearly 10 miles long, and the only thing to obstruct the view from your luxury resort are palm trees. While downtown Provo is close to any and all amenities, including banking, shopping, and the airport, Grace Bay  is close to the most important thing: the unspoiled ocean. Your luxury villa will only be steps to the beach. And if the sand is too hot, well, your resort will feature a beautiful pool ringed with well-preserved tropical gardens. If you like to windsurf, your oceanfront resort will have any and all the gear that you need. The same goes for scuba diving, snorkeling, laser sailing, or whatever else you like to do on the island.

And, just a short drive away, there is an expert-class golf course. For people who like to remain outdoors and in the wild, your oceanfront resort will be just a short sail or cruise away from more than 80 islands or “cays”, many of them nature reserves.

So take your pick: the city or the secluded pleasures of a Turks and Caicos oceanfront resort. Whichever your choose, TCI will not disappoint.
